There are two methods you can use to register your group.
- You can print out the registration form 2018 and mail it with your deposit check.
- You can register on our simple online form and pay with a credit card (we do add on the appropriate credit card fee, so you’ll save a few bucks by mailing your check and form).
Once the Summer in the Son office receives your registration and payment, we can register and house your group.

What happens after I register?
You’ll receive an invoice (both email and snail mail) showing your registration deposit and remaining balance. As your week approaches, you will receive more details you need to know about your week. At any time that you have questions or feel like you need to know more, don’t hesitate to contact us!
What if my group size changes?
You don’t need to worry about getting your entire group together before registering. If your group grows in size, as most do, simply send in a new registration reflecting your new registrants only. We will make the adjustments and send you a new invoice. Please note that new registrations you add will be listed by registration cost determined by the registrations dates listed above.
The bottom line is this: we want to help you get as many kids here as we can, so if there is room as late as check in day, we want to help. The earlier we know, the easier it is for us to make it happen!
You may add or remove registrations until May 24. After May 25 you will not get your deposit back on unused spots. At this point you can no longer remove registrations. You may register additional students past the deadlines at appropriate registration price.
Are registrations transferrable between males & females?
Yes. We must receive notification prior to arrival about such changes in order to ensure appropriate housing.
What is the Covenant Church Discount?
Covenant Churches partner with Kentucky Christian University by contributing at least $2,400 per year. There are a number of great perks, including a $2,000 scholarship per student per year if they attend KCU. There is also a Summer in the Son perk – TWO FREE registrations each year! If your church is a Covenant Church, simply indicate that in the appropriate area on the registration form. We’ll confirm the Covenant Church status, and the two free registrations will be credited to your balance (it will show up as a $508 credit – 2 regs @ $254 each). Please note that the discount can only be used once per summer and can only be used by the church that qualifies (no giving them away, selling on eBay, etc). What is the Family Member Discount?
We’re a big fan of families, and we want to help those who have multiple family members that are attending SITS. Sibling groups (as well as parents of attending youth who serve as sponsors) are eligible for a $25 discount per person. Simply indicate on your registration form the number of Family Discounts you have in your group, and bring the “Application for Family Discount” forms for each family at check in.
How do the Permission & Medical Forms Work?
Once your group has been registered, please make sure the parents of each student fill out a “Permission/Medical Form for Students.” Make sure your adult sponsors fill out a “Medical Release Form for Sponsors” (don’t forget your own) and finally, all participants must sign an “Individual Code of Conduct”. Please have these forms filled out and organized upon arrival. Please note that you should have TWO copies of each medical release form. One is for your records and the other is to be turned in to the SITS office upon arrival. All of the forms you need are listed in the Downloadable PDF section below.
Why Do You Need Background Check Forms?
SITS and KCU are committed to providing a safe environment for all students who participate in our summer programs. We require each church to obtain background checks for every adult sponsor who attends Summer in the Son. You can download the “Background Check Info Sheet” and “Background Check Verification Form” here. Those forms should outline the process, but don’t hesitate to contact the SITS office with questions you might have.
